A Facilitator's Guide to Community-based Approaches for Changing Behaviour to Improve Animal Welfare

This Communities for Animals (C4A) guide is a resource for community faciltiators informed by Brooke's years of expertise working with communities in different countries and contexts around the world, as well as recognized best practices in community engagement and development, and the science of human behaviour change. It includes three learning modules along with step by step guidance for three different approaches for working with communities, and associated partipatory tools and resources for working with animal owning communities to improve their animals' welfare.

Brooke is an international animal welfare charity that has been working to improve the welfare of working horses, donkeys and mules, and the lives of the communities that depend on them since 1934. We work in some of the most challenging areas around the world to improve these working animals' quality of life by creating lasting change in human behaviour and animal health systems upon which these animals' welfare depends.
